I used to use these on older cars but would NOT use additives on a M96 engine for fear of cloging some of the tiny oil passages like lifters & chain tensioners.

You should not be using any oil additves, but should be paying attention to what oil you use and how often you are changing it.....................

absolutely not

Unless you are an oil formulation engineer, at which point we will ask you questions. Use a top quality synthetic oil and change with regularity - say 1 year 7500 miles.

Weight and choice depends on driving style/duty cycle as well. Hot, cold, tyrack, no? Long trips? Short?

Greetings from the 2+2 seater side of the world.
I happened to be passing by and thought you might be interested in this thread:
Ultimate Motor Oil Thread or Why we hate CJ4/SM oils
It will take a week to read but worth the time. Obviously it is geared torward the ai-cooled crowd so some of it won't apply but there is a lot of good info about oil grades and additives.

So much of this stuff is just added profit for the dealership. Ask your friendly tech for the evidence showing why this stuff is good. Not supplied by the manufacturer but some independent analysis. If the additives were really that good the major brand would be using them and the car manufacturers would be specifying their use.
