new to me 2001 boxster 986

I recently picked up a 2001 boxster it has 70K on it
1 should i replace the IMS bearing are what till the clutch needs to be replaced is Thar Any waring sings before it goes out .

2 Some times the top will not close or open win i push the button the first time but if i come back to it later it works.

Since it hasn't blown yet it might be OK until your next clutch change, its all a crap shoot with this car. I just changed out my friends car with 98k and the bearing looked and felt great. Change your oil every 5k and run it like you stole it and hopefully you will be allright. When you change your oil, look for any particles and take your filter apart and check for anything suspicous, if you find anything change it out right away. No warning signs other then when it fail, then it's too late.
Your top problem is most likely the micro switch by your handbrake, try to blow it out with air press and spray with elec cleaner or replace ti,
