hardtop spin locks
Does anyone know if 996 cabs with hardtop use the same type of spin locks as Boxsters? I picked up a hardtop locally and need the hardware. I see so many people selling 996 tops cheap, I figured maybe they would part with the hardware cheaper than the dealer.
Thanks |

Good thought, but no. The 996s have a different mounting system built-in to the car, and from what I can tell, every 996 cabriolet has the mounts already installed. The spin-lock part numbers you're looking for are 986-563-713-03-OEM and 986-563-714-03-OEM, we sell them for about $80 a pair (Genuine Porsche).

don't forget to buy the set screws (bolts) that go with the spin-lock when ordering. watch the left/right installation they will go in easily (wrong) but the screws do not want to set and they "hold down" mechanism want work. actually when i did it (wrong), one screw (left side)set all the way but the the unit was 90 degree out of alignment and the rt side screw would not set and it was also 90 out
