Here is a pic i found in Wayne's article:http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/box_oil_change/Figure6.jpg
is the engine oil dipstick on boxster s 2002 (986) supposed to be not tighten? just push it as deep as possible without turning clockwise/counterclockwise in order to tighten it ..? found mine is not tighten enough, as it can be push down and pull up a little. not like most of the dipsticks which are very tighten. The dipstick showing on Wayne's picture was not that tighten if i did see clearly. any explanation will be appreciated. |

also did some research, some have said the dipstick is supposed to be bent.
not so sure, but the oil levels showing on the dipstick and the gauge are not the same.(maybe it's normal.) |

Nope, you just shove it in there. What is the dipstick showing you, level wise?

ya,
the oil pressure gauge says the oil is nearly full, and the dipstick shows that the oil level is nearly at Low level.. there is just a huge difference, maybe the car has been sitting for too long. |

Maybe the stick is not seating all the way in the hole? That would cause it to read low.
