Oil Level
Just had an oil change (2005 Boxster S)
Checked the oil level this morning with the car cold (electronic dipstick) and the level was in the middle. Is this OK? |

Sounds okay, I would just keep an eye on it.
I'm not a huge fan of "electronic dipsticks", I really like to actually "see" the oil level in the sump. I've heard that when coolant and oil mix, it's possible for the sender to give false readings, which may complicate matters in the future. -Wayne

Well, the boys in Stuttgart really didn't give us much choice in that matter, did they?
I typically ignore cold readings. Level, warm... that's the way to check. And it doesn't take much pitch for a mis-read, so level is important. |
