Howdy Folks

Hello everyone. I'm new to the Boxster forum, having spent several years over on the Pelican 911 board with my 86 Carrera. Well, now I'm the proud owner of sibling for her... a 2001 Boxster 2.7L in Orient Red with gray interior. As is customary on Pelican... here are the pictures my new baby. Cheers!

Thanks all... and Whip, nice to have another NC'er around. My car is 2001 Boxster, Orient Red, with gray leather. I acquired the car from Martin's German Service in Roanoke, where they had been servicing it for a doctor for several years. The doc traded up for a 911 and that left me the opportunity to purchase his trade in.

If any of you folks are at, near, or around Roanoke VA... you should stop in and see the guys at Martin's. Larry and Keith are outstanding folks, passionate about German cars and racing, and a blast to talk to and to work with for service or purchase. The parkway is very close by and when I drove up to test drive the Boxster, they let my wife and I take it up to the top of the mountain through all those wonderful S curves.

Keith, the owner, has some serious collectibles in there too. They have a PCA 911 inside, housed in an environmental bubble... 1 of 50 Porsches allowed to be purchased by their dealer network through a drawing... came straight from Germany and it has never been driven. He also has one of first six 911's ever made, he bought it when he was very young and has kept it all these years. And, it's the only known green one of the six in existence... it'll be worth a fortune one day. He also has a couple of those BMW Erkel cars, where the front of the car IS the entry door. In stock for sale he had a 86 Carrerra in pristine shape, some 928's, I think a 2006 911 GT3, a Cayenne, and various other cars. Cool place to visit and highly recommended. They'll even take you for a walk through of their shop.

Cheers!

Thanks Wayne... funny you should say that. I ordered your book and the Bentley manual... and they both arrived the day before I took delivery of the new Boxster. I have my priorities right! Your 911 book was simply awesome and an indispensable tool for me as a 911 owner... so of course I had to get the Boxster version as well. Once again, very nice job and I hope it makes it on the NY Times best seller list.
