Boxster cabin Squeek

I have a squeek when driving coming from behind the drivers seat. It sounds rubber and have conditioned every piece I could get at, still the squeek. Has anyone experienced this and can offer anything before I dip the whole car in WD40.

I had a similar squeak, I jus moved the back of the seat up a lil bit and it was gone, think when you have it all the way back it rubs on something not sure what tho.

Our 986 does the same thing on the driver side as I like the seat back pretty far. I think the headrest upper seat back flexs back a bit and it touches the roll bar hoops or the plastic mesh and you get the 'squeak'. I have moved the seat up 1 position and 'pffft' no more noise.

I hope that helps...

Thanks for the input folks but it comes from and around the roof when retracted, unfortunetly its not the seat.. As I said I conditioned everything I could touch and I still get the squeek. Its so bizarre but what happens to one must happen to another.

ok...does it come from kinda behind the driver side seat almost near your left ear....ours does this from time to time especially when it's cooler outside...I have looked and looked and cant ID the source...my suspesion is it's one of the clamshell molded pieces of plastic that is either rubbing or ratteling and when the outside temps are up it goes away...is this kinda what your hearing? Ours also tends to not do this when the top is down....when it's up and it's cooler I do hear it from time to time...then it's time to turn the radio up a bit louder LOL

My 2003 has a squeak in the same spot, at my left ear. I have looked every place! Even tore the door apart but found nothing.

I did find that if I reach outside and pull on the door (pressure pushing the door closed harder) at the far end near the door handle, it seems to stop. I think it is just weather stripping rubbing together. So far conditiong has not helped, maybe silicone spray or talc might work. I have a feeling the correct fix is a door seal. Might be able to adjust the door so it closes tighter but I am always hesitant to start messing with factory body adjustments!
