Rear bumper and exhaust off - two questions

I removed the rear bumper and exhaust to put in the new Fabspeed.

Two questions - there seems to be some sort of drain line that runs from the drivers side to the middle of the bottom mount of the bumper - what is that? Power steering overflow?

Second - the crossmember behind the engine (it's got studs on the bottom side that the back two holes of the triangle plate bolt onto) has vertical tin on the passenger side, but none on the drivers side. It doesn't look like it's missing, since there are no studs to mount it on the drivers side. What is the purpose of the tin?

Here's where the tin is located:

I can't find a good picture of the drain line, but if you have the Bentley manual, in the last photo on page 63-9, just to the right of the top arrow, you can see the black line held up by white clips.

Hi Steve
I just put my tin back in after installing a new LN IMS bearing. From what I see it protects the transmission linkage from both physical damage or possible heat.

I note with interest your cross member below your transmission and would like more information as my bottom plate had to be pryed off and when I went to reinstall the rear structure was over 3/16" too wide. I will run a seperate post on this.

Any ideas on the vent line - it looks like it runs all the way up the drivers side of the car, forward of the engine - I have no idea what it might be.
