number 1 cylinder misfire
I've fitted a 2002 (96.22) 2.7 engine into a 2000 Boxster and plugged it directly into the 2000 DME. Only modification was to swap the fuel rails over as the 2002 engine had no fuel pressure regulator or return line. Engine runs but has a 1 cylinder mis-fire. I've changed the spark plug, injector, MAF and even continues if the o2 sensors are nulled out. If I turn off number 1 injector the misfire stops. Should I also swap over the DME that cam with the 2002 engine? or change all the o2 sensors??? Help please

Also, I swapped over the coils also to see if the misfired moved and it does not....

Maybe a compression check?
I think the DME deactivates the injector when it detects a misfire to prevent damage to the cat but I don't know how it reactivates it once the problem is fixed. If you have a CEL you might have to clear it to re-enable the injector. This is all guesswork on my part - I'm not an expert. |

Compression test okay. CEN fault was O2 Sensor and Cylinder1 misfire.

Help....still not working. I'm now removing the imobiliser part of the DME program to fit the engine matched DME in the hope that it stops the #1 misfire. ANy other suggestions gratefully received
