Radio code

Hi There
If anyone read my post recently about the CEL light coming on they will know I made it go off by disconnecting the earth lead on the battery.
I just thought it was worth adding a little more detail. When I disconected the battery it was for 22secs max as Wayne said in his book that pre 03 cars can be disconnected for 20secs, not more than 50secs or the code for the computer/ radio would need to be entered again to get it on. After I connected the lead again and this was after 22secs I started the car and found that I needed to put the code in to get the radio to work again. The point of my mentioning this then is, if you havent got the code dont use this method. I dont know why it didnt work according to the instructions, maybe most cars in this year range can be safely done this way without the need for the code, but some maybe like mine are a little different.

Post your problem over on RennTech, in the "lost radio code" forum, and Loren can give you some suggested codes to get it going again............

Thanks for the info JFP, but what I didnt say in the post was that I checked first in my owners wallet if I had the code, in fact I have two one for the SAT NAV. I proberbly wouldnt have gone down this route if I wasnt sure I had the code. Thanks anyway.
