Need help with boxster window motor puzzle.

I am new to this forum, and have been reading other posts about window motor issues and door latch etc.
I have a 97 boxster. last summer the passenger window started popping back up after the door is opened, and when open you pull either the inside handle or the outside it will drop. This has been mentioned as a failure of the micro switches.
But, before I put it away for the winter the drivers window started getting very stiff at midpoint, to the point where i had to encourage it with my hand. Then lastly, it made some crunching sound and quit altogether.
I figured it had to be the regulator cables fraying.
I replaced the regulator, and now the motor doesn't work in this door. (but i took the other door apart and plugged it in there, and it works fine).
I tested the switches, they are both fine. The fuses are good. The wires are all good in the door. but i wouldn't know where to chase them to.
The last point is the alarm is going haywire. doesn't know if the doors are open or closed.
double beeps sometimes, single sometimes. Used to be silent, so don't know what is up.
even once the key is in the ignition, if you don't start the car, the locks re-activate.
Sorry for rambling, just trying to get it all out.
Thanks,
Aaron
