1999 Boxster 5 Speed Transmission Core Value

I have a 5 speed Transmission that came out of a 1999 Boxster Base that developed a weird fluttering noise on acceleration in all gears. The Transmission still functioned seemingly as it should but required replacement at the time due to the unknown internal issues.

I'm asking here if anyone has an idea of how much this tranny is worth and where you might think a good place to get rid of it would be. I'm guessing Craigslist is probably not the right kind of place for it to actually get anything out of it at all however, and I'm not really willing to ship it so it would need to be a local pickup and Ebay is kind of out as well.

I was thinking of listing it on here under the Pelican parts forums classifieds for local pickup but I'm not sure.

Would you kind individuals would have some other recommendations.

How much is it worth, if anything
Where would you recommend listing it

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'm in Ashburn Virginia, I drove the vehicle to the shop and the tranny worked in all gears it just had that weird noise that they told me that it would be adviseable to replace the tranny due to unknown cost etc.

Local pickup means you need to tell us where it is. I'm not sure, but The Samba might be a place that has interest. That is if anyone has used a Boxster tranny successfully in a VW project.

More importantly, it seems that you don't know whether the tranny is good or not. I've never heard of a tranny that fluttered. ;) As a core, I don't think you've got much more than an anchor.

However, anything has value to those that can use it even if it's only for training and education.

The tranny will need to be gone through for obvious noise reasons, I drove it to the shop in all gears but it had that weird noise under acceleration, not sure what the issue was as I didn't have it disassembled to determine the cause due to cost.

My original intent was to find an affordable rebuilder and keep it as a spare but I got rid of the car and the new owner didn't get it. So I need to get rid of it to clear up some space in the garage.

Thanks for the quick reply

I edited the first post and put the above at the end of it, not sure if it got missed so here it is again.

Thanks again to anyone that can offer any info.
