p1126 & p1130 - rich or lean?

I know this topic has been discussed many times (seems to be a common issue) so I'm not here to ask for diagnosis help, etc. The one thing I can't seem to fully figure out from the other posts on this topic is whether these codes indicate the car is running lean or rich.

According to the code: "Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 2 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold"

Does this mean the engine is running rich or lean? At first I thought rich (because of the description) but after reading some other posts I'm wondering if it means the car is running lean (i.e. the ECU has compensated to the rich end as much as it's willing to and the engine is still lean).

Hi,

I think at one time, Wayne said it was a sign that the car was running rich.

Backwards; P1126 and 1130 codes indicate the the DME cannot richen the mixture enough to compensate for an overly lean condition.

Typical causes: Air leaks, low fuel volume or pressure, fouled injector(s) sometimes a bad MAF.

Coolant temp wise, the engine seems to be running around the normal temp (needle sitting right around the '8' in the '180'). The only exception is sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic it sometimes climbs just a little past the '0' but only one of my two radiator fans is working right now so I'm guessing that's the culprit.

OK, that makes sense. I'm almost positive I have an air leak... since I can hear a noise that sounds like an air leak

Bringing the car to an independent tomorrow to have it looked over (since this is my first Porsche and I want to get a baseline with the condition of everything) and I'm hoping to have him check for air leaks while he's at it (tried diagnosing myself but it's getting frustrating and I can't pinpoint the air leak more specifically than somewhere around the top of the engine... and I still hear it if I disconnect the AOS and plug that hole).

Thanks for the clarification on the codes. Much appreciated.
