Check out the Tech Info Center on the site -- there's an article on oil changes. It is best to have the car raised in the air so it's level and allows the oil to drain out. Let the oil drain for at least 20 mins.

I raise my car and insert blocks under the tires that give me about 9" of working height under the car -- plenty of room to drain oil/replace filter and inspect stuff under the engine.

Wayne also has the 101 Projects book for Boxsters that covers this.

Regards,
paul..

Our local Pep-Boys has Rhino-Ramps that work fine for me when I do our Boxster. I just put a old cinder block behind each ramp to keep them in place while I back the car up and they are the same height as the ramps and give you another measure of insurance if you mistakenly back over the stop 'hump. It gives you ample room to get under the car and drain all of the oil. Be mindfull and have a big drain pan there is going to be ALLOT of oil and it comes out qucikly at 1st be prepared your going to have to find a place for about 8.5 qrts of used oil.

Have a few old rags and paper towels handy and DONT overtighten the drain plug they can easily sheer off.

Be sure to have a 8mm allen socket to remove drain plug preferably Snap-On & make sure car is supported level for best oil drainage.

Better still get the LN Engineering magnetised version and pull out any ferrous metal with the sump plug at your next oil change.
10MM allen key required.
