Hey all!
I just want to announce that I bought my very first Porsche. She's a high-mileage (127k) but meticulously maintained base-model 986 with Boxster S II wheels. I was driving a SAAB 900SE Turbo previously and had a transmission failure over the past weekend. Pricing everything out, it wasn't financially justifiable to even fix it myself with a used transmission. I went out searching for a (fun) vehicle to drive. The dealership I looked at online had a 2001 Audi TT Coupe (6-spd) for sale, which I wanted to go look at and test drive. Upon arriving at the dealership, the Audi had a "SOLD" sign on it. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed an arctic silver Boxster on the lot. I hadn't even considered a strict two-seater, but I asked the dealer if I could take a peek at the car. One thing led to another, and I fell in love during the test drive. The sweet song of the 2.7L flat six lured me into buying the car, and I couldn't be happier. I was provided with the car's history, which included a meticulous maintenance record (rear oil seal and IMS were replaced as well). The car looks, sounds, and drives very healthy, and I look forward to keeping it that way! ![]() |

Congrats and welcome to the obsession!
We have had our 987S for 4 months now and love it more now than we did when we first bought it. It sounds like you will wind up the same way. BTW- I see your temp tag and inspection sticker. What part of VA are you from? Oh, and join the PCA. Our regions group is a really nice bunch of people.

Congratulations! I've had my 06 for a year now and absolutely love it. In fact, I just finished washing her. These cars are tremendously fun to drive!

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to be part of such a welcoming community of motorcar enthusiasts
![]() s_morrison57: I'm likely going to pick up a copy of Wayne's book as well. I have "101 Projects..." for the 911 and have used it to do some fun work on my dad's 911SC Targa. Well worth it. M&W's 987S: Yep, she was just inspected this month by the previous owner and passed emissions without a problem! I'm from Fairfax, and I'll definitely consider joining PCA. ![]() Again, thanks everyone for the welcome! May your flat six be strong for many years to come. |

Very Nice. I just recently picked up my 986 2.7 as well. My first Porsche and first car. It was 9 months ago when I bought the car, but it feels like just the other day. I am having lots of fun with it and slowly improving the power and looks.
