I have a 1998 boxster. While sitting in the car I pulled the handle to open the door and heard a snap.. The window drops but the door will not open. However if I use the outside door handle, the door will open but you really have to pull up hard as if something is catching to open the door. What can it be?

It's definitely one of the small plastic pieces that connect the linkage inside the door. The article shows you how to replace it - you just need to pop off the door panel and take a look inside to see exactly which piece broke.
