Vacuum Lines

Still working on the intake air leak in my '99 Box w/ 70K miles. Related codes P1124 and P1126. I think Porsche today said codes 27 and 35.

I'd like to replace vacuum lines labeled 25, 26, and 27.

What size lines do I need to order? PET doesn't say a part number, just says:

#25 120 mm
#26 40 mm
#27 240 mm

Looking at Pelican's site, they list sizes (I understand ID is interior diameter and OD is outer diameter):

3.5 mm ID, 7.5 mm OD
5 mm ID, 10 mm OD
7 mm ID, 12 mm OD
9 mm ID, 14 mm OD
12 mm ID, 17 mm OD
14 mm ID, 17 mm OD

So, the numbers don't translate directly. How do I figure this out? How much of what size lines do I need?

The 120, 40, and 240 mm sizes are the hose lengths. Do you have any info on parts 19 & 21 in that diagram, like the diameter of the mating nipples that the hose need to connect to? The other alternative is to remove a hose and measure the ID and OD.

Regards,
paul...

Ah, makes sense. Thanks Paulv. Looking at the hoses, they do appear to be about those lengths.

Based on the information from Paulv, I relooked at the PET. Maybe that part number above those hose lengths is the part number, 000-043-205-01, for that hose. Appears then that the size is 4 x 1 x 210 mm.

So, if those hoses are 4 mm, will a 3.9 mm do the trick? Autozone didn't have any metric sizes, so I bought a 5/32" OD hose which is also marked 3.9 mm.

That's a good question since the difference is 0.1mm (0.0039") which doesn't seem to be critical since it's within 2.5% tolerance. You're probably safe buying the 5/32 hose. Good luck.

paul...
