Boxster top down...dash light on...is that right?

I just got my new to me Boxster yesterday and drove it home with the top down. Is the dash light for the top supposed to stay on when the top is down? It goes off when the top is up and locked in place. Thanks in advance.

Keep holding the button until the motor stops, then the light should go off.

Thanks. I was wondering if I had held it all the way down or not. Can't drive it more until I get it registered and I'll check it out again.
Thanks guys.

You don't need to drive it to check. Just unlatch the top, hold the switch down until the light goes off.

Of course, but it isn't much fun sitting in the car in the garage ;-)) (I will check it out though)

I believe the limiter switch is what shuts off the light & stops the motor. It is possible the switch is defective or displaced.
