Had A project Idea, need some insight
 

So I have been looking around for a new project to work on. Was thinking a 31 model A but then a friend called me and they found a 2000 boxster at the junkyard for about 1K. frame is straight and it runs but has all over body damage. So started searching for used parts on CL. Then I came upon this guy selling a carrera GT body conversion for a boxster also cheap. Now I have seen this kit on a car first hand and personally don't like them...looked like crap and you could tell it was a kit. But it got me thinking. So I did so more searching and found this:

So here a possible project. Using the front and sides of the CGT kit, getting a zientop/cayman top, and getting an aftermarket wide rear bumper and could have a similar look. All for 4K. Then spend the major cash on upgrading the engine. Also when cutting the rear can add bigger vents for intercoolers. Any thoughts. Would come close the the elite project listed above except headlights would be GT lights. Any imput? I know purest out there would say get the original body panels but honestly those would probably run more then this idea.
