I have a 2000 Boxster. The alarm beeps twice when activated with the key. I can manually lock the driver door but the passenger door stays unlocked. The problem began when riding in the car and the doors locks were randomly locking and unlocking. The dash key switch was flashing as well. Now, the window switches won't open the windows, but the windows will open slightly when opening the doors on both sides. C-3 fuse is ok, fuse on central alarm box is ok too. So, cannot open the windows with the switches, dash key switch doesn't work and light up,alarm doesn't work just two beeps, interior door lights don't work as well. Must be a short, bad ground or switch?

Two beeps means that something is open or stuck. I had a similar problem on my 996 - turned out to be a pinched wire harness in the door panels. I found it using the PST-2 tool (the Durametric tool works well for this also). You can test each switch using the tool to see which ones are working when you open / close the door. The fact that the windows will not lower is also very odd - usually the window switches only stop working when there is a problem with the roof switches. I'm going to copy this question to the forums - perhaps there are others who can offer some suggestions.
