As per TR6s comment above, I have my climate controls in the console on my 02 S as well, can we simply move the climate controls up to the cup holder location and then perform the console upgrade?

Yes, that should work. There is an article somewhere on the net that shows this conversion, but I don't have the exact link. I will copy this question to our Boxster forums, and perhaps someone there will know.
