Definitly more power after Techno power kit installation

OK, so I'm very happy to report that I have finally finished installing Pedro's new "Techno Power Kit". Basically the kit is a larger throttle body, an intake "T" flow enhancer and a re-mapped ECU. I went ahead and installed some new headers to complete the breath-ability of my '99 2.5L Boxster. I already had the modified intake "T".

I mean come on... a stock 2.5L Boxster is not going to pull your head back during acceleration... but I can say that this DIY installation was well worth the power increase. I only wish I would have Dyno'd the thing before and after. The power increase is substantial by the seat of my pants. It's been raining like heck in Seattle making it hard to test... but I was able to "get on it" on a freeway on ramp... I was grinning ear to ear :D. The car pulled HARD through the gears and really started to come on song during the higher RPM range. This thing feels, and sounds like, a GT3. I'm very happy with the way it worked out and would recommend to anybody trying to "wake up" their 2.5L. I'm looking forward to next years track days where I can stretch it's legs a little more.

BTW... I had some delay in the project because I broke one header bolt while taking off the old headers. Ended up taking it to the shop for repairs and that cost big $$$ - oh well!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322023687.jpg

Joel good to hear you finished your project and are happy with the results. Too bad you didn't do a dyno as it would be interesting to see the before and after as I too have a '99 and have been doing my own upgrades but with a different approach as I'm going after increased performance on the low end. By installing an EVOM CAI, headers and increasing exhaust flow through the stock muffler by punching through the baffles my SOP dyno tells me I'm reaching my goal as I can feel max torque and hp coming on at 3.5K rpm now where it used to take until 4.5K to start the power band. It really kicks in at 3.5K rpm and jumps now instead of starting that slow increase and kicking in at 5.5-6K rpm. I'm going to talk with Pedro about the ECU flash when I get the this other stuff paid for. Too bad we don't live closer it would be fun to race our cars at a drag strip to see how they match up at this point. Have fun you've got a good looking Boxster.

Joel:
I'm very happy to hear that you are pleased with the TechnoPower Kit.
I knew you'd be.
My car which is a '98 pulls with the Ss so yours should too.
We're now getting ready to offer the TechnoPower2 Kit for 2000 - 2004 Boxsters (2.7 - 3.2L).
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Pedro, I already have your TechnoTorque and my car (986 S) is already chipped, so I'd only be interested in the bored ThrottleBody
So what's the price to get a bigger bore throttle body? (I couldn't find it on your website).
Also do I have to send you my core first or would you do an "Advanced replacement"?

Thanks

Pedro:
Don't forget about the 2005-6 2.7l/3.2l cars.

I think the stripe really helps the look of your car with the hardtop. I've never been a big fan of the Boxster hardtop's looks, ( I think it gives the car a Miata kind of look, sort of ruins the car's "lines", IMO) but yours looks great.

Hi Joel you've been driving with the Techno Power Kit for a while now what are your impressions of it? Has your gas mileage been affected? Any codes, cel? How's the power still as fast? Please fill us in. Thanks!
