Boxster Shifter
I saw this in a Spec Boxster yesterday at Sebring.
![]() It's a multi adjustable lever for a variety of shifter throws and adjustable cable mono blocks. It's the first one I've seen Richard Newton Car Tech Stuff Last edited by RichardNew; 02-03-2013 at 10:29 AM.. Reason: sp |

Nothing new, a lot of money (around $800) and for race applications (won't fit under the factory console).

It is made by Numeric Racing and sold by several people including Tarett. I have one installed in my Boxster racing car.
I would say it is a lot to spend on a road car, but it does fit under the factory console.

A real racer will steal money from the family food budget to get another part.

It does not fit under the console with the risers on it.

That is true. I was talking about the shifter only, and not the shifter with the risers

Most of the ones we have seen had been installed specifically to take advantage of the superior shifter position when the risers are used. We have installed, and I have personally had the chance to drive just about all the shifters out there; this one is very well made and has more adjustments possible than most of the rest, but the difference in shifting “feel” (which is what most people really are looking for) is not great enough to justify the huge cost differential on the street. On a race car, where durability over the longer haul is an issue, I can fully appreciate why someone would use one, particularly with the risers in place. And I also know of several dedicated race cars that use the basic factory housing and the B&M style shifter, but mounted on $4 worth of machined aluminum blocks to get the elevation advantage at a more modest price point.
