986 Ground Clearance
Does anyone know what the standard ground clearance is for the 986 using 17" tires.
OR The clearance between the rear tire and the edge of the wheel well? My 99 seems to have very little tire to well clearance (less than 2 inches). Maybe I have a different suspension package?

We put in coil-overs on our '99 Boxster so those measurements will be off from OEM. However, I do remember that with OEM suspension, OEM 17" wheels and OEM tire size we measured 5 1/2" ground to jack plate (within 1/4" all corners). What will help others figure out your question is your current tire size though. That changes wheel well clearance. If you've got aftermarket struts, that should be apparent. I'll attach a photo of a 987 strut which looks the same. Also, check your option codes. If you've got the Sports option it should be on there.
