I have a special nut it would seem

I believe this is an external Torx or something like that? I have one on each wheel. Is this the poor man's wheel lock? I am getting ready to do the brakes, so I guess I better figure out how to remove the wheel. Should I keep this thing, get an entire set, get rid of it? What do I need to remove it? Any advice appreciated.

thanks,
Ken

It looks like a standard modern lock nut/bolt. Similar to whats on my Mini and BMW. There should be a female socket in the car that fits over top. Otherwise go to a dealer and they may have a kit with various sockets.

Is that on your Cayman? In the front trunk, where the tool kit and towing hook is, you'll notice the lug key.

As others have noted, there *should be* a matching socket in the toolkit. My suggestion is to go buy 4 new standard bolts, remove these and replace them with the standard hardware. When you are changing a flat tire at midnight in the rain, you will appreciate it!

Found the tool. Thanks guys. @tcora, if I am changing the flat, then a someone brought me a spare...I think I will be reading the instructions on inflating the flat in the rain!
