99 Horn malfunctions
My horn in my 99 Boxster has been quite odd. First it started honking if I braked too hard. Now it does not work at all. I read somewhere that I likely needed an airbag frame. That the grommets went out on them caused some of the symptoms. Does anyone have any experience with this? I also read some horror stories about having difficulties getting the correct frame (a change was made to them?). A frame is listed here at Pelican I plan to order, just looking to verify if anyone else has been through this or has any suggestions.
Thanks! |

Bump
Giving you a bump, I have similar problems with my horn. I think the previous owner used the steering wheel to pull himself out of the car. I simply pulled the fuse, but I certainly miss having a horn when I need to use it.

Look around and do searches at various forums. I remember reading some people had fixed it for just a couple of bucks with rubber o-rings from Home Depot.
Some tiny rubber part behind the horn button ages and is unable to support the weight of the horn button which cause the horn to honk randomly or when braking. |
