Rear Fog light - replaced light, still not working
I recently bought a 2000 Boxster S. one owner 60k miles really a very clean car.
the right rear fog light does not work, all other lights are operable on both sides. I went to replace the bulb, and there was none in the socket. I put in a new bulb, still a no go. question is, could it be a fuse? or just a bad socket. I dont know the electrical set up on these well but seems unlikely that this bulb would have its own fuse. So i am thinking a bad socket - any suggestions? PW |

fog light works only on one side, to distinguish from brake light.
that's the way it is on all European cars. |

Don't feel bad, many have made the same assumption. Made more likely because there is a socket and a bulb (one part for both LHD and RHD cars). Hope you saved the bad bulb.

Right rear fog light
I did the same thing on my 98 986...then read about the European standard and then removed the bulb since that socket is dead.
Like me you now have a spare bulb. ![]() |
