ignition key wont turn

am new to the land of boxster. have always liked the car , and now have 97, with an updated 2.7. have sucessfuly done brakes ,rotors, fuel filter,etc. thanx to waynes book. but was in garage working on car, top in particular, didnt quite get the rear deck lid closed, and couldnt turn key to start car , to finish closingthe lid. tried locking, and using key to open car, then attempted to start key wont turn?

It might be as simple as moving the steering wheel. If you park with the front wheels turned, the caster keeps the wheel tight against the lock mechanism. Happens to me regularly.

went to the garage, wiggled the wheel key turned fine. thanx muchly. . ,

This one cracks me up!!! I did the exact same thing when I got my Boxter. I also had a hard time remembering that I had to turn the key completely off if for some reason it didn't start on the first try before you can try it again.
