Window not lowering when convertible is closed
I recently replaced the driver side window regulator in my 986 Boxster. The window works great now and goes up/down upon opening the door. However, when closing the convertible top, the passenger window lowers about 3 inches and the drivers side window remains up. If I forget to manually lower the window, the window glass interferes with the convertible top. Is there a switch for each side that initiates the window lowering? Any thoughts?
Thanks, Devin |

Bump...window operation is perfectly fine. The drive side window just will not lower itself when the convertible top is lowered or raised.

It is likely the micro switch for the door handle. This activates the window lowering. Not uncommon on the Boxsters and Caymans.

The window actually behaves fine when opening the door. It lowers as expected. The problem only occurs while closing the convertible top. The passenger side window lowers and raises when the convertible is locked. The drivers side does not lower as expected. Is there a separate microswitch that activates the windows upon raising the convertible top?
The strange thing is that the driver side window behaved fine prior to replacing the regulator and motor. |

I am having a similar problem but neither window is dropping when I lower the top. Please keep me posted as I haven't gotten much feedback on my posts.
