Ok I'm an idiot, starting a Cayman
So I'm new to the Cayman, but I hop in two feet in and try to turn the car over; nothing or a depress clutch message (it is depresssed).
So I've found if i turn the key to on, then push in the clutch and turn the key I can start it, but what's the deal here. If I'm two feet in why does it not start, or what am I doing wrong? Thanks

Could it be the clutch safety switch giving out?

It's possible, do you have an exploded diagram I could see so I could check it?
Found it, i gotta get Waynes' book http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/93-ELEC-Pedal_Switches/images_large/Pic1.jpg Yellow arrow is the switch

How about a DIY article?
Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Brake Pedal Switch Replacement / Clutch Pedal Switch Replacement - 986 / 987 In fact, pick up the 101projects book. It's in there as well. |
