Strange Front Fan Issue

I have an odd issue with the left front fan. If you let the car warm up normally the left fan does not come on. If you turn on the A/C it sort of turn on and off at its own will. Then once the car is hot the fan will stay on even with the A/C off. Also: the fans come on when the needle gets to the right side of the zero, the temp drops a little, but not much.

What say you?

Just based on your description, appears your driver side low speed fan resistor may be toast.

That is what I was thinking. Where exactly is it?

Figure 3 at this link, it's attached to the frame behind the radiator (and behind that black plastic shield, so you can't see it in the pic).

There are some troubleshooting steps you can take to narrow down your problem. If no one else posts them soon, I'll post it later.

A friend of mine is a dealer tech and he is saying resistor as well. Did anybody ever come up with a radio shack solution?
