phantom CEL
My CEL flashes in third gear around redline but there's no code. I know flashing CEL indicates misfires, but not enough apparently to throw a code. I've tried replacing my MAF and spark plugs, but still no luck. Since I don't know which cylinder is misfiring, i swapping things won't really help.
I've had this problem for over 2 years now and things haven't gotten better or worse. Any ideas? Kevin |

Cracked coil? Have you looked at the individual coils that attach to the plugs?

Pull the OBDcodes, a flashing CEL will leave a pending code. It should tell you which Cylinder is misfiring, etc.

what does a cracked coil look like? i pulled all 6 and they look fine.

i swapped out all 6 plugs, all 6 coils look fine visually. still getting the phantom cel. any other ideas?
