fuel problem , no fuel flow need help
i just finish rebuilding my 996 engine , put it in the car , so far so good , posted here as its more active
it cranks, oil pressure good , no funky noise , but no start, i did the first test with the fuel line off as i did not want it to start upon first turns and confrim fuel , turns out ... one thing i notice, no fuel , by passed relay , pump works , test fuel relay , it works , power is there at the other pin , no activation via ground , even when starting the engine was running ( not great ) when taken off ( but i bought it disassembled , so i cant attest to this , but a big end failure , the rest should be ok , car did not run in one year i have heard , that the DME relay , might be defective ? but which one is it i have also have a similar problem on my audi , where the cranks angle sensor went , is there a way of checking it short of spending 150$ for a new one ? if its not bad

So when you hot-wire the fuel pump to turn it on, you're not getting any fuel to the engine? Perhaps I read your statement incorrectly?

fuel issue
i did replace the gas , most of it , siphon and refill
when i hotwire the relay board where the fuel relay is , fuel pump runs when i test the fuel pump relay on the bench , works perfect the suggestion of taking all the relay out to clean and check is not bad , but thats a crummy corner to work in i will test my CAS this morning , one detail : is the plug for the CAS the same as the one for the cam activation ( can they be mixed) or any of the 3-4 plugs in that area, would explain the problem are all the DME relays under the dash or are they in an other location thanks guys

more test done
took cas out , cleaned it , verified ohm reading , looks the same as a /audi one ( that i know its good) put back on the car , i have between 2.2V and 3.2 V reading , which leads me to believe that its good
one thing i notice , key does not lock the doors , could it be some stupid immobilizer , how would i know ( 1999) also whats the green warning light in the dash that looks like a meter with a needle in it ? what the knob with a key symbol on it , light is not on and if i press it , nothing happens
