2001 Starting to smoke on start up. It does not do it all the time. Are you thinking what I am? This is weird bought the car and it was leaking oil. Now it quit leaking and has a plum of smoke out the tail pipes when you start it. But not every time. I have ran it hard then start it the next morning to see if that is it. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. Then today I started it no smoke moved it 50 yards started it a few hours later and holy hell .... lots of smoke. What is going on? Anyone out there know?
Thanks Trace |

How many miles on the car? Have you ever had an oil analysis done?

It's almost certainly the AOS - I had the same symptoms. You could pull off the intake tube and see if there is oil in there - that is a dead giveaway.

Or you could remove the oil fill cap and if there is a LOT of suction while running, that's the main symptom.
