Watrerpump replaced, now overheating issues

Just replaced my waterpump. $1025.00. Now my coolant drains, and the temp guage is flashing, than steady red light, as the temp guage reads at high temperatures. I returned it back at the shop today. I cannot wait for this estimate or diagnosis. I am hoping it was the pump of course... "Porsche..There is no substitute!"
The picture was taken when the waterpump failed.....

Unless that pic was taken day after or so? So the fluent could run back behind the rear tires. That is not the water pump leaking. The water pump is right behind the passenger seat on my 99 Boxster anyway. Fluid tank. Is more of a possibity. Bad or loose hose, etc. That leak is in the right place for that. At least on a 99, Boxster. Is the inside of the trunk wet?

This coolant dump was before I replaced the waterpump, and the shop told me it needed replaced, which I did, now having the overheating issues.

The coolant tank overflow hose is right there, so it's not abnormal to see that if there's too much coolant in the system, or if there is a huge air bubble. Blinking red light means low coolant, and steady red light means overheating. So, it sounds like the system wasn't bled properly. I've got an article on this here, should be an easy fix if it's just a trapped air bubble (although the shop should have seen this and/or used a vacuum pull on the system to remove all of the air).

We see this every time another shop did not use a vacuum filling system and you have air trapped in the system causing the car to puke coolant. Get the air out of the system before you cause a local overheat issue and damage the engine.

Just curious. Did they replace the associated hose to the water pump when they changed it?
