Battery drain issues
Hi everyone. I have a 06 Boxster all stock and my radio just died last week. Ever scince then if i lock my car with the key fob the car wont start the next day or a couple of hours. If i use the key on the door and lock it, the car is fine the next day. Ive noticed that theres a red blinking light to the right of the radio face that doesnt stop blinking, whether the car is been driven or not. Any help/advise wold be greatly appreciated, thank you. ps its a brand new battery too.

Put a multi meter set on current between the positve battery cable and the battery terminal; if you get more that 60 mA drain, you have an excessive current draw in the system. If you do find high draw, try pulling the fuses one at a time until it drops into the 40-60 mA range, the last fuse you pulled is the problem circuit.......

The red blinking light is one of two things (at least in my '08) depending on where it is coming from. It is either the central locking button, or it is coming from the face of the radio as yours is, which indicates to any bad person that the radio has a security feature and it won't work if they forcibly remove it from your vehicle...
The radio's red blinking light can be turned off or on in the radio's setup menu. At least in my '08 that's the way it is. Hope that helps you maybe.
