Engine Cover
OK folks, here's a new thread to ponder. Who of you open up the engine cover and clean the top side of the motor? On all my cars I have kept the engine compartment spotless. I've had my Boxster one month tomorrow and I have never seen the motor.
(This is an exclusive to this board and wil not be seen anywhere else.) |

Now, isn't the Boxster engine hidden completely under the top? I thought that you had to remove all of that contraption stuff on the top to get to the engine. And most of the engine is serviceable through the bottom, right?
-Wayne P.S. The real question should be how does your Boxster handle compared to your old 914?

Wayne, hard to remember how the first 914 handled. It's been a while. It was very neutral with seemingly little body roll. However, I have seen the 914 group that run stock units at POC and some of them lean pretty hard. I haven't driven my race car yet, so I haven't a clue how that'll be. And the Boxster? Well, I'm older and wiser now and save my racing for the track. I'll probably never push the Box to it's limits. After 30 years of kart racing at places like Big Willow, Firebird and the old Riverside, I have nothing to prove. So I take it easy on the street.

Thanks for the pic, Wayne. That's as close a look as I've had so far. I think that's a fine lookin engine compartment. I want mine to be clean. I think that when a service tech sees that you care enough to take the time to clean the serviceable part of the car so he doesn't get filthy working on it, he will give it his best. |

You want to see a Boxster engine?
I have a pic
