I would like to enable (or have the dealer do it) the OBC. Is the stalk installation a screw on job or a take the steering wheel off job? I know enough not to fool around with a steering wheel equiped with an air bag.

Hi Milt,

If you are installing the stalk you will need to remove the steering wheel. I've witness the stalk installation and it is pretty straight forward. There are a few more pieces and wires to deal with verses the panel switch install. The single panel switch install allows access to all features of the OBC except for the speed set bong. A second switch is needed if you want speed bong. The stalk installation gives you all the features. I went with the single panel switch and don't miss the missing speed bong feature.

I have put in about a dozen trip computers with the 4th stalk. And have replaced the 4 spoke steering wheel with the 3 spoke, and the 3 spoke for a 4 spoke. Steering wheel and air bag come out in 5 minutes. Wheel is marked before it is taken out so it goes back on exactly where it was before it was removed.

Have many pictures but when I tried to unload them to this site I got an error message that they were too big.
