Driving this winter? Hell yeah! :o)

There have some threads about driving Boxster in the winter, i will for sure.
So i was thinking about to do some kind of diary this winter

The Boxster S in question is a 00 and it has the "nordic" package witch includes litronic, extra heating, wind deflector etc but no traction control
And i also have a hardtop.

So what kind of weather do we have in Sweden right now?
Where i live we just had our first frostnight and on the days its around +5 deagres C/41 deagres F. And we dont count on any snow before december but blackice would appear in november!

I draw some attention yesterday, late afternoon, a bit of rain and cabriolet down, very nice driving indeed )
And i really look forward to be driving cabriolet down when the snow is here!!

And what to do now when its starting get cold:
Fill up concentrated washerfluid.
Snowtires and hardtop could wait.

*edit*
I use the car daily.

Do you have any changes in the gasoline composition in the winter in Sweden ?

Here in Massachusetts we get a winter blend that drops your fuel average down to 20-25%. Not sure what they do and why they do it. Haven't found an answer yet.

Keep them coming. Im considering selling my BMW and turn the Boxster into a winter warrior to free some garage space. Good luck.

That happens in California too.

I drove a Miata as a daily driver for a while - routinely made 30+ miles to a gallon in the summer - but i knew the moment they changed the formulation to the winter blend as I would only get 25-26 miles per gallon.

We have 95, 98 RON gasoline and E85 (85% ethanol 25% gasoline) and E85 changes to E75 and on gasoline they change the Reid Vapor Pressure (rvp).
But its only in the north they change the rvp, its Butane thats been added to make the gases more "fluid".

Normaly snowtires are smaler than summertires and that gives you i higher average during the winter due to lower friction.
On the other hand in cold weather the engine draws more air hence lower average, but that i think is just marginal.
