2002 boxster s will not start

Hi guy
I am new here. I have a 2002 boxster s.

Igot this car from friend of mine. He left the top open and water got in. Car wouldn't start after that.

He took it to dealer , they replaced the alarm module and gave them a new key. Still they could not get I to start.
He gave me the car after that.

I took the car to a Indi shop, after running diagnostics for 4 hours they cam back said alarm module is prevent car from starting. I told them to stop working on it.

Anybody have any ideas where to start trouble shoot this ? Is there any way to bypass the alarm module

Thanks in advance

I start tracing wires and checking them

According to wiring diagrams there are two "GP" on the passenger side under the dashboard? What is GP ?

Garage
GP is ground point...stud to the chassis
If you can find another car(member) you could try swapping the DME and alarm, and use their key head- if it starts its not in your wiring.

Thanks
When I took the car to Indi shop, they were able to access the DME and the triptronic control module. They were not able to get the other modules to communicate with these.

I was able to starter to crank by passing the relay.

Is there another way to check whether the DME is bad or good

Can I replace just the DME/ECU or do I have to replace alarm module , DME and triptronic control?

You should indicate which part of the country you're in. You might get a lead on a better shop or somewhere you can get answers quicker. There are also other more active boards like Rennlist where you should also post your question. Sorry I can't be more help.

On the wiring digrams there. "J/C " I assume these are junction points

How do I know locations for these ?

For example J/C BS1 is connecting alarm system, power top , radio and dsp amplifier

Actually this is one of the more active forums. Sometimes the collective wisdom just doesn't have an answer or experience in the specifics of your problem. And water related corrosion is hard to trace except if you are old school and do it segment by segment measuring and cleaning each contact point.
