'97 Boxster electrical issue
My '97 Boxster has been running fine but all of a sudden the electrical door locks don't work and starter position on the key does not crank engine. Battery voltage OK and no drop when in start position. I would think starter solenoid except for door lock issue happening at the same time. Any ideas?

Best guess, you have a bad ignition switch. Next guess, you have a problem with the imobilizer box under the driver's seat. Is the carpet wet by any chance?

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried another key in case it was a key chip failure, but it made no difference. We have had alot of rain lately and the carpet is damp but not soaking wet, also I had driven it yesterday and the problem showed up when I was going to run an errand about 20 minutes after arriving home. I have determined that the window switch is not actuating the windows and the front trunk light is not working as well as the electric locks not working. The headlights, the heater blowers, the radio and the instruments are all working correctly. Appreciate any other thoughts.
