what if i fill manual transmission with excessive gear oil?

Just curious. Its a genral question for manual transmission cars, not only for porsche. It occurs to me when I was fill the transmission oil for my truck... \
So..what if i overfill manual transmission? I can understand if I under fill it, the transmission will not get enough lubrication in certain area... but what if I just fill too much.... I mean... not too too much ... just a little bit too much?? Posssible consequences are :
1, transmission leak??? (well, just cosmetic issues)
2, Slightly higher resistance ???

If the oil level is too high, it will end up getting onto your clutch and dual mass flywheel, destroying both.
