When you refer to the Durametric, do you mean the Porsche factory PST-2 or PIWIS? What is the enthusiast version? I also have a 2001 Boxster S and would like to do this mod. Thank you, Jerry __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Pelican Technical Article: Boxster On Board Computer (OBC) Upgrade / Boxster Turn Signal Switch Replacement - 986 Boxster (1997-04) - |

The Durametric tool that he's referring to is a consumer-based diagnostic tool that was developed for the aftermarket. This tool performs a lot of the functions that the PST-2 or PIWIS tools perform for the dealers. The insidious version allows you to diagnose and set codes on three individual cars – after that you need to upgrade to the professional version so that you can work on more cars. The tool reads the VIN number of the car and stores it in its settings – you can only work on three VINs with the enthusiast product.
