idle control valve
Can i test my Idle Control Valve on the bench,
if i can what are the connections, i can read 1,2,3, on the connector, if i plug it back in to the car it just vibrates when i switch the ignition switch on. |

Hello You can test but why are you. Do you have a idle problem? There is a an idle adaptation process you can perform if your idle speed is not correct. The 3 wires going to the idle motor are #1 isp closed #2 ground #3 isp open. If your vehicle is a 99 and down Boxster. A dirty throttle body will affect you idle quality also. That can be cleaned.

Thanks for the info, you are right, once i cleaned it up (and it was dirty) and tested it the stalling and tick over is fine,i also removed the throttle body and cleaned with carb cleaner,
the only thing is that the engine revs to about 2000 rpm then drops back to 800 rpm when the engine is hot, it only dose this once or twice then remains stable at 800 rpm,so i,m not quite there yet ,once again thanks for your help, |
