2010 Cayman questions

Hi
A buddy bought a 2010 Cayman, pdk and no manuals, any way he was told by the dealer that you can mess up the tire pressure sensor if you take the wheels off, and put them back on wrong??? I call BS, there has to be a way but he's freaked to take a wheel off, he wants to clean them, same with the engine cover, how do you take that off with out screwing it up?
I'm always doing things to my 930 and I think he's a bit jealous that my car is more tinkerable than his. He also has no computer skills, and I can type so he asked me to ask about these things. Any help would be appreciated.

You can remove the wheels to clean them without disturbing the TPMS, just do not switch on the ignition with the wheels off or the TPMS won't be able to find the tires and get upset.

I have a 2008 but same concept...I removed the rear wheels and put them back on with no problems. The TPMS was not impacted.
