Help! how do you set camshaft timing on a 3 chain engine?

I have a 2003 3.2 engine that needs the intermediate shaft replaced so I need to set the cam timing for this 3 chain engine. lots of information for 5 chain engines but im not finding anything for 3 chain engine.

Cam Timing

Hello Jamesp

I must state first off that I am not an expert. Hopefully some will chime in for you after I have wrote this. First of all though you need the cam locking tool. On both heads both cams have grooves on the ends which the tool fits in to lock them. On the 5 chain just one cam is locked on each bank. One bank is timed first with number 1piston at TDC and the cams locked, then its a 180 or 360 ??? rotation to set the other bank with those cams locked down. I am not sure about the tension on the chains while this is being done. Perhaps one of our experts can chime in now.
