Wheel Lock
I just bought a '99 Boxter. I found that it has one wheel lock on a front wheel.
I have attached a pic of it. Can anyone tell me where I can get a tool to take this thing off? David Nolen '99 Boxter '70 911T ![]() |

I think you'll need to get a security lug socket from a Porsche dealer. Perhaps the dealer might just be nice enough to take lend you one. It looks chewed up so the security socket might not work. If it were me and the security lug was only on one wheel, I replace it with a standard lug once I go the wheel off.

You might also go by a big tire shop like a Les Schwab or one of the other big ones. Lots of them have the ability to remove wheel locks.

i bought a 97, with out a wheel key. went to a local tire store, they had a generic stud removal tool toothed, a good smack with a hammer, seated it and they spun right off. i am sure porsche would have charged me more.
