Howdy folks - I am in the NW part of Houston. Have a 1st gen Boxster and while the mileage is low (70k) the car is old enough I guess that rubber bushing/etc are showing their age. I was hearing/feeling some vibration/noise from what I thought was the suspension or steering system (in front and back) and after taking it to the dealer, the dealer diagnosed it as needed
-rear track rods
-front lower control arms

Total $5k to do that. They even told me if you can live w/ the noise you might just leave it as-is.

The car probably would not sell for much more than that (reality)...so I was just looking around and found a kit that seemed to include those parts, and more, available at link below which was $2k for the parts. It's way beyond my ability to work on it, and right now the only alternative I have is the dealer which is cost-prohibitive to deal w/ @ this point.

So in my ideal case I'd find a reputable spot that could work on something this complex and were capable yet not too $$$. I'm usually afraid to take the car to anyplace but the dealer just because I think Porsches are so much different to work on than 99% of the cars on the road/etc, that if you goto the wrong spot it could turn out really bad!

Not yet. It shows delivery on Monday. Which is okay because I'll be at the track all day Sunday. It's going to be a hot one. Wanna come out and go for a ride?

bb1, Those parts are not too difficult to replace but the car should be re-aligning after they are installed which I would have to sub 3rd party. PM me your contact information and I will work up a quote.
Thanks
Einar

My buddy just had keys done on his 99 boxster at Porsche North Houston. My shop is in Seabrook just north of Kemah waterfront.
