Recently purchased a dealer maintained 2000 Boxster S with 104k mile. Dealer PPI revealed some oil leaks- listed as RMS and cam. After purchase, a good indep mech replaced RMS, IMS bearing and other seals. Still leaked. Back to dealer who said RMS, second indep mech said RMS. Original mech put a camera under car during test drive, suspected bad IMS bearing seal. Redid the seal, still leaked. Finally indep mech found leak in the seam where the two parts of the motor ase are joined. Leak is relatively min. Can I live with this?

I would have the mechanic check the crankcase alignment. There is a gauge to measure the RMS seal bore to see if the crankcase is properly aligned.
