Left headlight/brake light not working

Hey guys, just rescued a 2001 Boxter base model from a sleazy car lot and after I got home I noticed the drivers side headlight and break light don't come on. The high beam on the drivers side works fine and the parking lights come on. I am not a technical guy but wanted to see if this combo seems like something obvious like a fuse or something that I could do at home without taking it in. I won't take it back to the sleazy car lot as it would be a waste of time.

Quickest way to check is to replace the brake light bulb (cheap) and switch the low beam bulbs (they are expensive if you have Litronics). Problem solved if they work after that.
